Moving and losing

Depends on what you mean by home? Right now Friendswood Texas

My life has taken many turns in the last few years. Every time we leave one place behind and start over again I try to get a feeling of home. I have moved with me a few pieces that make every house we move to a home. One is every home should have a piano whether you play or not it is always used by guests and just for the children to play around on. We acquire one if we leave one behind every time we move. The other item which has been with us for years is art prints that were in my parent's home and now grace my home with their presence. I have a few antiques I purchased over the years that find their way into a room and look as if they had always been there. We have now inherited two lamps, two 1960's stuffed chairs, and some curio cabinets. The curios belonged to my husbands Grandfather and when he retired to Florida he left them with my husband's mother and now they are with us. I guess to make a house a home all you have to do is collect as you go and add your own personal touches. People find comfort in belongings that are familiar and if you cannot afford to surround yourself with all new furnishings the hand-me-downs work just fine.
